I didn't want to add to the ratings, but I wanted to see Obama's speech. I didn't want to see selective cuts geared to point me into thinking one way or another. And I must say, it was very well delivered, great topics, and an overall great speech. The hope for America was seeping from my TV speakers and filling my home and my heart. Obama said all the right things for me. He said he was going to go “line-by-line” through the spending budget to remove wasteful spending (something Bush did a long time ago, but Congress never passed), and work to help veterans.
Yes we can change, and yes there is hope. I sat there saying, “No, don't get off the stage, keep talking and tell me more.” Obama did stop talking though, and then he left the stage. The hope stopped gushing from my TV, and leaked out from my home through the rotted seals in my window fames.
Sitting back down on Earth, I remember he is just some guy saying the right stuff (greatly I must add). Why couldn't he have at least one completed term in Senate, with a voting record to back him up before he ran? The only records Obama has that are sticking in my head are the shady deal made with Rezkco on his home, and working side-by-side with Ayers, a terrorist who set off bombs and has yet to apologize. I have to judge him off of his record. Sure, Obama has done some good things in the short time he has been in service, but these things I can not forgive.
I am sure almost every convict at their parole board say they have changed, and are ready to reenter society. The board looks at his prison record to see if his statement is backed up. Right now, I have that problem with Obama. If he had a long standing Senate record to back up his statements, Rezko and Ayers wouldn't mean as much. The problem is these are the only things Obama has that I can go off of. So for my decision, Parole Denied.
